2.8 Million Minds
2.8 Million Minds
HLP students are currently halfway through an amazing outreach project sponsored by The Bernie Grant Centre in Haringey. Bernie Grant Centre is one of the Partners working on GLA 2.8 Million Minds project, helping to form an action plan for Children and Young People’s mental health, through art and culture in London.
Thanks to Bevali Mckenzine, Community Arts Producer at Bernie Grant Arts Centre, she has created a new hub space, in one of the units at the centre, for young people from the Haringey Learning Partnership to use weekly to discuss mental health issues, to chill-out and create visual art. This exciting space has allowed students to express their thoughts and feelings surrounding Mental Health with Writer and Youth worker, Yomi Sode facilitating a series for writing workshops and Graffiti Artist Simon from Blingwear delivering Graffiti workshops.
2.8 Million Minds Project completion ends in May with an open Exhibition at the Bernie Grant Centre showcasing students written and amazing art works. On 17th May 2022 Students and facilitators will visit the Houses of Parliament to discuss 2.8 Million Minds project and deliver a ‘Better Health in Schools Manifesto’ to MP's and guests at the Houses of Parliament.
