Haringey Learning Partnership

Secondary Outreach

Our function is to reduce exclusions due to behaviour-based difficulties.

We work in partnership with mainstream Secondary schools in the borough to support both pupils and staff with the challenges presented by a range of complicated behaviours.

We deliver support in a wide range of ways, depending on the needs of both school and pupil. Our aim is to provide a bespoke solution for each individual referral.

As a team, our strategy is to listen, to observe, and to devise and support delivery of a tailored intervention.

We use the Boxall Profile to support needs analysis, observation and planning.

Some interventions include a weekly support session for those pupils most at risk of exclusion, delivered by highly skilled specialist teachers.

Interventions from Outreach Services are allocated by the HAPI panel.

When the service is running at full capacity, priority is given to those pupils who are in groups that are over-represented in exclusion data.

We would be very happy to answer any questions you may have about our service, either via email or telephone.

The Secondary Outreach service is an outcome of Haringey Council’s 2020-2023 Model for Change and has been designed in conjunction with Secondary Headteachers and Senior Leaders to support student success in mainstream settings by working collaboratively with students, families and schools.
