Haringey Learning Partnership

Simmons House

Simmons House Adolescent Unit is an NHS in-patient psychiatric Unit for young people aged 13 - 17. The unit has 12 planned places and includes as an integral part of the therapeutic treatment programme the Classroom at Simmons House.

Due to building works beginning on the ward in January 2024, the unit is temporarily closed to new admissions.

We are looking forward to welcoming pupils on site again as soon as possible and will share details here once we know when this can begin. Please do contact Gerry Robinson as Executive Head (gerry.robinson@haringey.gov.uk) or Lorraine Coady as Head of Classroom (lorraine.coady@nhs.net) should you have any questions about the service.

The specialist teaching team on site work closely as part of the wider clinical team to assess, formulate and offer treatment for complex mental health needs.  The Classroom enables pupils to both continue their academic journey in partnership with their 'home' school or college if they have one, and nurtures individual agency through a strong creative curriculum bespoke to each pupils needs.  The Classroom is a national Beacon School for SMSC and is a registered exam centre.

Haringey Council provide the on site education for the admitted young people and Whittington Health Trust lead the medical care.
